No Turning Back Now. Nadia had already rung the doorbell. Fate being whatever it may, she would have to face it.
Maggie Livingston was engrossed in yet another book when the doorbell rang, unexpectedly interrupting her tranquil afternoon...but she didn't really mind.
She hurriedly placed a bookmark between the pages, pulled herself up from the comfortable couch, and walked up to the door.
As she opened the door, a bright smile spread across her face. Seeing Nadia in person filled Maggie's heart with joy. It was strange circumstances that had led up to this moment. She was well aware of the rumors that had circulated around her, and teased Nadia about possibly being distraught enough by recent circumstances that she might even hope they were true.
Nadia followed her inside. The door closed behind them, marking the beginning of a long alliance between two people who had the foresight to do what needed to be done to prevent worse things from happening.
No Turning Back Now. The time would come where more despicable souls might need to meet their end at the hands of two very capable vigilantes. The rumors about Maggie were partially true. She did not chop babies and virgins up into bits. Nadia had no need to fear her. However, there were those out there, those who harmed children, deprived others of basic rights or human dignity, who would need to be dealt with...and Luna Vista was no place for abusive or hateful people. The town had not become as peaceful as it was merely by allowing things to fall as they may, while listening to the waves crash against the sandy beaches.
No Turning Back Now. Nadia would make a fine vigilante one day, and the time to begin down her path and find her fate was now...and she had so willingly showed up at Maggie's door.
