I'm sure I've heard it before, but I don't remember where.

During a zombie apocalypse, it might seem surprising for a convenience store to remain open. However, there could be several reasons why it could still be operational:

Preparedness: Convenience stores often have emergency protocols and disaster preparedness plans in place. They may have fortified their stores and taken precautions to ensure they can continue to operate even during extreme situations.

Remote location: If the convenience store is situated in a remote or less populated area, it might be less affected by the initial chaos of the zombie outbreak. As long as it is not directly in the path of the outbreak, it could continue functioning.

Self-sufficiency: Some convenience stores may have backup generators, solar panels, or other power sources to keep the lights on and refrigeration running. This self-sufficiency can help them remain open when other businesses are forced to shut down due to power outages.

Strategic planning: The store management might have employed strategic planning and cooperation with local authorities or survivor groups to maintain supply lines and ensure a steady influx of goods.

Human survivors: If the store is in an area with a considerable number of human survivors, they may use the convenience store as a temporary base or outpost, making use of the available resources.

Barricades and security: If the store can be adequately secured against zombie intrusions, it could serve as a shelter for survivors, or they may use it to fortify the immediate vicinity to hold off zombies.

Remote operation: In some cases, the convenience store could be remotely operated or managed by a group of survivors who have set up a safe control center within the store or nearby.

Lack of direct threat: If the zombie hordes are concentrated in other areas, the convenience store might not be a priority target for the zombies, allowing it to continue functioning.

Keep in mind that these are fictional scenarios, as zombies are not a real threat in the real world. However, in fictional stories and movies, creative elements are often employed to provide unique settings and situations, and a functioning convenience store during a zombie apocalypse could be one such element.
